fun with chromatic casting!
Sep. 16th, 2010 04:19 pmA couple of weeks ago, I was bored and started thinking about the old chromatic casting meme that was going around a while back. And I thought, man, there is never a bad time to play around with chromatic casting!
So, Inception! One possible alternate cast, chromatic-style, and with occasional genderswapping because love that movie though I do, it is tragically lacking in the ladies.
The Extractor

Cobb - John Cho
The Shade

Mal - Sophie Okonedo
The Architect

Ariadne - America Ferrera
The Point Man

Arthur - Sarah Shahi
The Forger

Eames - Chiwetal Ejiofor
The Chemist

Yusuf - Meera Syal
The Tourist

Saito - Gong Li
The Mark

Fischer - Gael Garcia Bernal
The Others

Miles - Morgan Freeman

Maurice Fischer - Edward James Olmos

Peter Browning - Dennis Haysbert
IT WAS SO HARD TO CHOOSE SOME OF THESE. So many possibilities! Esai Morales as Cobb! Diego Luna as Arthur! Zhang Ziyi as Ariadne! More genderswapping! ALL genderswapping! Etc, etc, etc.
Anyone else want to have a go?

Date: 2010-09-17 06:09 pm (UTC)Mal (Sophie Okonedo) was also nominated for an Oscar for her AMAZING role in the film Hotel Rwanda, which I cannot recommend highly enough. I mean, it's not a happy movie, but it's very, very good. And tells a story that badly needed telling.

Date: 2010-09-17 05:14 pm (UTC)Sophie Okonedo was the first idea I had that made me think of doing this. :)

So so perfect!
John Cho is so perfect!
I made my own post (http://eumelia.livejournal.com/515195.html) and I'm so happy to see Sophie Okonedo all over the place! Why is she not in more movies doing everything!
