It appears that there has been a bit of kerfluffling in Fandom Land. Somehow, I doubt that my one lousy Trees!post inspired it all, but I can't help but feel vaguely guilty all the same. In the spirit of uluviel, a disclaimer:

DISCLAIMER: This post may, in some twisted unearthly light, somehow appear to be an attempt to somehow refute the entirety of the existence of Domlijah by theoretically disagreeing with a single minute aspect of the theoretical proof of the theoretical D/E OTP. This was not the intention. It is, instead, continuing proof that fandom is fucking funny. Read at your own risk.

Calm down, people. I'm just amusing myself, here. I'm not trying to offend anyone, or discredit anyone's beliefs. I just happened to notice an interview which happened to support MY beliefs. It certainly doesn't prove or disprove anything. Heck, I'm still a Domlijah shipper, I just don't think "trees" has anything to do with the theoretical existence of their relationship. Damn. This fandom could take the fun out of anything.

I think it's the "Haha! See? WE TOLD YOU SO!!! You were wrong, we were right!" that got people pissed. I've seen a few of these posts, not just yours. I never thought Tree=Wood (despite my icon, which I just thought was funny) and the gloating kinda annoyed me a bit (some fans, not you, were acting as if they'd just won a big war... uh, perspective, people?) But then again, I certainly wouldn't go "Told ya so!" if Dom and Elijah came out, but I'm sure half of the D/E shippers would, and that would annoy me too. Possibly even more, since they're D/E shippers, and sadly in this fandom, people aren't perceived as individuals, but as groups, ie, a Domlijah shipper says something stupid, and suddenly we're all morons. (This goes for any other group, too).

I hear you. I thought the Trees = Wood was pretty damn funny at first, until I realized that some people were taking it seriously. And, yeah, I'm a little sick of being grouped with the few wacko Domlijah shippers, too.

All I have to say is -- Yes. Thank you and yes.

People on both sides of the fence have been gloating from day one, so no one can say it suddenly started today. From colored shirts and ties to things not being exactly as other said that they were. And suddenly, people are sensitive. Oh, okay.
