I've been in a meme-ish mood for the past couple of days. (For anyone who wants to know what my voice sounds like, I did a voice meme on tumblr yesterday that amused me more than it should have.) So, now yoinked from several people:

I currently have 150 works archived at AO3. Pick a number from 1 (the most recent) to 150 (the first thing I posted there), and I'll tell you three things I currently like about it.

I have so much Lotrips crap on there I never want to think about again. Er.

70!

Ohmigosh, 70 is Solar Cycle, my only Zoe/Wash Firefly fic! I actually do like that fic!

1- Zoe's voice was hard for me to work out, but I kinda like that about it -- I don't think I got it exactly right, but it was an interesting headspace to fit myself into, and I still like the tone of it. She's a very...compact sort of person. She doesn't use unnecessary words. And this is still relatively early in her relationship with Wash, so she's still figuring out how to arrange her way of thinking to fit around his, and that chafes a bit. I think it works.
2- Wash's dialogue is SO MUCH FUN. Like - "Did you get the stuff?" Wash demanded, clattering down the stairs to meet them. "Is anyone following you? What's—" Wash broke off abruptly, noticing the new recruit. "Dear god, it's ugly. Do we have to keep it, or can we give it back?" He's just fun to write.
3- I like how simple the premise of the story is -- Zoe forgets their first anniversary, and Wash is angry about it, and they need to resolve it. It's the sort of conflict that comes up in normal, healthy relationships all the time. They don't need massive external drama to tearfully come back together. They just need to take some time apart, for Zoe to have a chance to think through the differences between her perspective and his, and then for her to work out how to better express herself to resolve the issue. I like that. It still feels very natural to me.

78 is The Years of the Rat! Okay, I still have FEELS about this fic, this is a good one. Harry Potter fandom, Peter Pettigrew-centric.

1- This was by far the longest fic I had ever written at the time, and it was gen about Peter at Hogwarts and how the Marauders came together and then splintered apart. And I still think it really works. I was never satisfied with JKR's treatment of Wormtail, in the end, because he didn't make sense to me as a character -- a total coward would never have become friends with the Marauders in the first place, let alone get close enough to betray them so utterly. So this was my explanation. It still makes perfect sense to me.
2- I like Peter's friendship with Remus in particular, and how he kind of thought he was saving Remus, in the end, in his own twisted way.
3- And I like that the incident with Snape and the Whomping Willow was the turning point for Peter, as well. A LOT of fics at the time (including my own) dealt with the fallout of that in regards to the Remus/Sirius relationship, or James stepping up and becoming a Responsible Human Being. It was interesting to look at it from Peter's perspective instead. IDK, I just like the way the pieces come together in this one.
