if you are afraid, come out
Oct. 9th, 2013 12:42 amI LOVE ABBIE MILLS SO MUCH OKAY. Also Jenny. This is what I took away from last night's "Sleepy Hollow". Anyway.
4. What are you afraid of?
Bees. For real. Bees, wasps, hornets, yellow jackets -- anything of that ilk. While it's mostly just a visceral fear, I can definitely also trace it to reading the children's book "A Taste of Blackberries" at a young age, and (spoiler alert) the description of that kid dying of anaphylactic shock after being stung absolutely terrified me. I knew my grandfather was allergic to bee stings, and knowing that those things can be hereditary, combined with reading in detail the effects of that allergy -- completely terrifying. I have to date never been stung, and I am still irrationally petrified of the things. Whenever they show up in visual media I tend to cringe and close my eyes and sometimes block my ears so I can't hear the buzzing. (By the way, the X-Files TOTALLY DID NOT HELP.) This is my one and only phobia.
