Pairings I used to love and now thoroughly detest because they've been so fucked up by both canon and fanon that they are no longer recognizable:
With much embarrassment, Merry/Pippin. But I continue to hope. So, not quite thoroughly detest. But approach with much caution.

Pairings I look at with old affection:
LotR - Frodo/Sam
RPS - Dom/Lij (my very first pairing ever, sigh, although lately it's been going the way of Merry/Pippin)

Current pairings I squee over:
LotR - none, really, although the world needs more Frodo/Merry (prequest)
RPS - Billy/Elijah. Not nearly enough of THAT, either. And, well, Dom/Billy and Dom/Orli.

For each of your fandoms, and without reusing anyone if possible, who was the character you most:

LotR - Merry
RPS - well, they're real people, with twelve billion fic characterizations, so this is hard to say...

LotR - Frodo, but only because I've already used Merry
RPS - DOM.

Hated or were thoroughly annoyed by?
LotR - Legolas. Love him in the movies/books, hate him in the fandom.
RPS - Craig Parker. ::hides:: Look, he's cute and all, but I just don't get the obsession.
Rent - Roger. Mr. Angst Himself. Gah.

Adored in a platonic sense?
LotR - Pippin!
RPS - Billy! (sensing a pattern here)
Rent - Joanne

It's hard to find, and usually comes in the form of let's-take-up-space-before-the-REAL-pairing (Frodo/Sam or Merry/Pippin). I can't even think of any specifics off the top of my head, although I'm fairly sure MsAllegro wrote one. Sigh.
