I don't have a TV, so I generally watch my handful of current TV shows the day after they air. I'm pretty careful about avoiding spoilers for the less-than-24-hours in between other people seeing stuff and me catching up, although tumblr has screwed me over in the past. I accept this.

But seriously, I just got massively spoiled for last night's Agents of SHIELD by the GODDAMN ABC WEBSITE. Like, this is the site I have to visit to watch the show, and they have the spoiler plastered across the "watch latest episode" page. I am so pissed.

...I mean, I'm pissed about the actual spoiler, too, but also that the network itself ruined it for me. Although, seriously, RL is bad enough, but why are all the central black male characters being killed off on all of my shows? It's not like any of them are killed deliberately to parallel/comment upon what's going on across the US right now. It's just incidental. In the space of the past month: Danny Pink, Frank Irving, now Antoine Triplett...I am really not okay with this pattern.

I should probably actually watch the episode now. Except now I don't particularly WANT to. (I was wondering why BJ Britt never got promoted to main credits on SHIELD. Now I know.) And coming right on the heels of what happened to Mack last week, christ.

I was gonna follow this up with the December meme, but I'll stick that in another, spoiler-free post.

such_heights and our flatmates and I got REALLY ANGRY about this thing this morning. We're 3 or 4 episodes behind on Sleepy Hollow but we're spoiled for what happens to Irving, and we just watched the SHIELD finale and omg RAGE. It's stupid and terrible and just particularly awful given everything that's going on at the moment. I don't understand why nobody in charge of these things seems to have noticed.

IT'S SUCH BULLSHIT. I mean, I get that story arcs like this are planned out long before they air, but the timing is...just really dreadful.

Like, it was actually a good way to write a character death? But at the same time UGH FUCK YOU GUYS.

I do like that in the tribute video on ABC Clark Gregg has already started the #triplives campaign. Seeing as the #Coulsonlives reaction resurrected HIM, it seems like a good place to start...

AUGH, YES, RIGHT? Like -- I was a nervous wreck the whole episode, and Skye was SUPER COMPELLING AND GREAT, and the death itself was completely fucking wrenching and. But. But but but you could have a whole show that also included Antoine Triplett, and now we don't, and that's AWFUL.

I'm good with a #triplives campaign. If ever anyone deserved it...
