In a desperate bid to rekindle my interest in writing anything ever again, my turn for the meme that everyone's doing:
I currently have 173 works archived at the AO3. (Fic and vids.) Pick a number from 1 (the most recent) to 173 (the first thing I posted there), and I'll tell you three things I currently like about it.
I am actively working on a vid at the moment, at least. So creativity-wise, at least that's something. I'm pretty sure I USED to know how to write things that weren't work-related, too.

Aw, History Boys fic! I always have a fondness for those. Not enough of a fondness to EVER offer that fandom for Yuletide again, mind, having already matched on it THREE TIMES.
1) Picking the quotes for each section was a lot of fun -- it's a pretty wide hodgepodge of poetry and song lyrics and nonsense. (The idea was that these were 11 verses that Hector never taught them, but Scripps learned anyway.) The Tom Lehrer quote was particularly pleasing to me.
2) Rudge's cameo still makes me grin.
3) Nothing about Scripps and Posner is ever going to be easy or even particularly joyful, but their gradual fumbling into something still feels pretty real to me.

Date: 2015-08-16 02:17 pm (UTC)UGH I HAVE ALL OF THE FEELS ABOUT THIS BUCKY VID STILL
1) The song choice is just...really fucking apt for Winter Soldier, okay. It's haunting and all about technology absorbing us and taking us over in subtle understated ways and isn't this what you want?, and that really resonates for me with Bucky under HYDRA's control but with little glimpses of memory sneaking through.
2) moments you long forgot / keep them all with the juxtaposition of WS!Bucky being pushed back into the chair and 1943!Bucky turning around at the Expo to realize that Steve is missing.
3) now we possess you: Bucky flashing back to Zola contrasted with Steve in Times Square being surrounded by SHIELD vehicles.

Date: 2015-08-16 04:09 pm (UTC)My 25k Peter Pettigrew epic! At least, it felt pretty epic at the time -- that was by far the longest fic I'd written at that point.
1) Peter is in Gryffindor for a reason. Well, there was also a dark sort of courage in standing up to your closest friends, choosing sides against them, even betraying them if necessary. It takes courage to go against all you've been taught and raised to believe in. And when it came down to it, Peter had that sort of courage in abundance.
2) I like that it's Peter's FRIENDSHIP with Remus that ultimately leads him to turn traitor.
3) I really bloody like the last line of this fic.

RANDOM CROSSOVER FICLET AHOY
1) Writing dialogue for Greg House is always, always fun. He just has NO FILTER whatsoever.
2) Seriously, House would've had a field day trying to diagnose River Tam.
3) IDK, of my series of Firefly crossover ficlets, this always felt the weakest to me -- I was kind of floundering to find a crossover fandom that would fit for Simon. I do still like the idea of him interacting with House's team, though.
