Should I be working on any of my exchange fics/vid right now? Probably! Am I doing an A03 stats meme to distract myself instead? You betcha!

Snagged this one from muccamukk. General idea is you go to your AO3 stats page and then average out the totals by your total number of works (mean, not median). Definitely shows a more diverse slate of fics than always picking your top 5 or whatnot. And my brain really likes playing with stats in this way, so.

I fiddled with the word count only, since of my 209 works on AO3, 31 are fanvids (which have 0 words) and I'm making the executive decision that those shouldn't count. Still counting them toward hits/kudos/etc, though.

(One thing I find fascinating is the ration of bookmarks to comments - like, obvs people are more likely to kudos than comment, but I hadn't realized how MUCH more likely they are to bookmark than comment.)

Average hits count: 3736
Average Kudos count: 273
Average no. of comment threads: 17
Average no. of Bookmarks: 83

To Her Coy Mistress (Doctor Who, Christina/Jenny) has 6831 words, which is damn close. I was surprised by how NOT close to the median this was, until I remembered how many of my earlier fics were quite short. It's only in recent years that I've been writing significantly longer fics as a standard.

Work(s) closest to the average hit count:
Eight Candles (History Boys, Posner/Scripps), with 3749 hits. Again, wow, this meme is demonstrating the vast difference between "mean" and "median" in terms of statistics. I really do have a whole vast bucket of Lotrips and other low-stat fics/vids, but my handful of popular ones are yanking the averages up significantly. This fascinates me.

Work(s) closest to the average no of comments (/+ kudos if too many):
Trigger Discipline (X-Men, Raven) is one of several with 17 comments, but comes closest to average kudos. This is so wild to me! Three fics with exactly the same number of comments, but one has only 98 kudos and another has 805. There is just NO correlation between kudos and comments whatsoever, is there? (This fic has 245 kudos, which is pretty close to my average.)

Same as above - that fic is just sandwiched between one fairly popular fic and one not-at-all popular one.

Work(s) closest to the average no of kudos (/+ bookmarks):
face it all together (Old Guard, Joe/Nicky) is quite close at the moment with 277 kudos, no need to use bookmarks as a tie-breaker.

That's a decent spread between fandoms, at least!
