I did manage to produce a Festivids this year, yay. Taught myself new software for it and everything. I had multiple false starts, including two iterations of completely different songs, before I realized that learning new vidding software from scratch was gonna be hard enough and I should settle with a song I knew I could vid quickly and well. It was very stressful, but in the end, I did manage to create the whole vid from start to finish in under 24 hours.

While I tried to NOT use a Vienna Teng song this year, well, I had this song in mind for the vid before ever watching the movie itself, just based on what I'd heard about it in advance. And it stuck. No, this was not the only "Everything Everywhere All At Once" vid focusing on the mother/daughter relationship set to a Vienna Teng song in Festivids this year, and frankly the other one is better, but this is mine, anyway.

I don't tumblr much anymore but I saw you reblogging yourself about this there on one of my rare excursions and was like "OH FUCK. oh no. that's the perfect song for them...."

and then of course you did it such absolutely gorgeous justice, the frustration and struggle and attempted love between them at every moment until it can be real enough for them both, finally.

what a beautiful movie it was, and what an absolutely messed up one, and a loving and kind one in the end, and what a beautiful video you made about it.
