kaydeefalls: CJ at mic, rocking the vote (democracy in action)

Okay, posting fic right at the tail end of a holiday weekend was clearly not the brightest idea I've ever had. So in case you missed it, Look! CJ fic!

Yeah, I'm a feedback whore, what do you want from me.

Speaking of which, I'm not sure that anyone's actually still reading [livejournal.com profile] elementmages, and it worries me because I do not intend to bore you all away. So, if you are totally bored with it, let me know where I lost you, so I can fix it. This is a general concern for me with this project, because I am not so good with the wacky action sequences, which YA fantasy does kind of need. I'm thinking I need to strip it down to bare bones and rewrite it entirely, and that's not something I know how to do yet. Urg.

Haven't been keeping up with the latest chapters due to busyness, but I just wanted to let you know that my individual silence wasn't due to anything in your writing!

I keep meaning to read new updates - in fact, they are on my to-read list. I just haven't been reading anything at all. I do really want to read it. I read the prologue when it was first posted and liked the idea of it.

It may be once you've got a whole draft you do do a white page rewrite.
I've rewritten the start of my Opus four times now, but never written more than the first third.

What's a white page rewrite? Is that where you start all over again from scratch? Because that's a terrifying thought. Although it does make sense to just plow on through and finish a complete draft, rather than getting stuck on reworking the beginning over and over again -- at least that way I'll feel like I've accomplished something.

Basically you reread what you've written, and then start writing on a blank page.
It's rather than moving the words that you already have.
