I HAVE MADE VID. I have tinkered and futzed and found last-minute clips and replaced things and tweaked and sorted, and it is as done as I can make it given my current limited abilities. And it makes me so very, very happy.

...um, now what do I do with it? Well, make it a format I can upload, or something, clearly. And then...post it? Somewhere? Fics I know what to do with. Vids, not so much. Is there a vidding beta process it's supposed to go through before I post? Where does it get posted? Youtube?

While I figure that out, I think I shall rewatch it a BILLION MORE TIMES. Just in case there's some more tweaking I can come up with. There's a bit near the beginning I'm not quite satisfied with yet, though fucked if I know what I should change to be wholly content.

Hurray! Finished vid! It'll probably take a fair bit of fiddling with settings to get it into a format you're happy with, if you haven't found that already - keep playing around with the export settings and you'll find a few that work. (Personally, I'm all about the divx export, though watch it doesn't try and squish your aspect ratio.)

Betaing etiquette seems about the same as fic - some people swear by it, some people are intermittent. Imeem >>> YouTube in terms of quality if you do want to stream. Mostly people post downloads of their vids, streaming an extra if you want. General header for information like song choice, spoilers, summary/description, and viewing details.

Cross-posting: there's the all-purpose vidding, torchwood_files for TW vids, dwfanvids for Who ones, and you could always post to general comms or galactic_conman as it's Jack-centric.

Vid! And man, I feel like I'm spamming you all the time at the moment, but I hope some of the above is useful - let me know if you need more help! I'd be happy to beta, for instance. Or, you know, I'm just going to slink away and let you post the thing your own self. *g*

So cool! Not that I know anything about vidding, but I've always wanted to learn. You should definitely post it here soon, at least, so we can all enjoy it!
