GUYS.

GUYS!

[livejournal.com profile] tardis_bigbang is LIVE!

I cannot even sort of pretend to contain my squee, but I need to get back to work, so this shall be brief for now:

And Indeed There Will Be Time
by kaydee falls
Torchwood | R | Jack/Ianto (+ team) | 43,000 words

In 1919, Harriet Derbyshire was killed while investigating the disappearance of Torchwood Four in Dublin. In 2009, UNIT pulls a dying man out of the Irish Sea with a one-word message: Torchwood. Martha joins up with Jack's team in Cardiff to track down the errant branch of the organization – before a time-traveling race of aliens can change the course of history as we know it.

Spoilers: Up through "Exit Wounds" and "Journey's End"
Notes: Huge thanks to [livejournal.com profile] such_heights and [livejournal.com profile] tricksterquinn for the thorough, honest, and ridiculously fast betas. Title from T. S. Eliot.

Plus! Beautiful cover art by blackbearblue and illustration by Tigress35.

I will be reading this in my copius amounts of free time. And by that I mean, soon. Seeing as how I was up till some early hour finishing Alanna. When it comes to reading I tend to make my own free time...

*bops*

I really don't know how you churn out so many of these things in short spans of time. That drained me of writing-ness FOREVER.

*flaps hands* I've been looking forward to this ever since you first posted about it so I'm ridiculously excited to be able to read it at least, eeee! (Though not, I'm sure, as excited as you are to have it finished and posted... :D)

I'm glad I'm not the only one excited about it! That would just be gratuitous. ;)

This is a totally awesome story! I really loved the case/mystery; it was really fascinating!

And I LOVED that you brought Martha AND Mickey AND DONNA!!! into the Team.

Thanks so much for writing and sharing this!

Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. And, yeah, Torchwood really is just a catch-all for ex-companions...

This is just brilliant! I thoroughly enjoyed the whole story. I love the way you led us through the different times, slowly revealing who was who, and how their actions affected what was going on. I adore time travel/paradox type stories and this is just one of the best stories I've read EVER (and I've read hundreds of time-travel stories without exaggeration). You just nailed the 'timey-wimey' aspect of time travel! And Martha and Mickey and Donna! And Jack/Ianto! Honestly, I just can't tell you how much I adored this - and I'll be reading it again and again.

Hi, I just finished reading your Big Bang fic (I'm in deep CoE denial and comforting myself with all the fic I didn't get around to before) and I just wanted to tell you how much I loved it. It was like reading an official novelization except, you know, much better written. ;) I loved the way you intertwined real history and Doctor Who history, I loved your characterizations, and it was in general like an episode of the series 3 I wish we'd gotten. (MICKEY ♥) You even helped to fix the Donna situation! It was completely involving and a little bit heart-rending, but absolutely wonderful.

Thank you, I needed that. ♥__♥

I've been in much the same place post-CoE -- reading and rereading all the happy-ending fic written before it aired.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
