Have caught up with FlashForward, just in time for a new episode. It's not the greatest show ever, but it keeps me interested, that's for damn sure. And "The Gift" just made me CRY, which I really wasn't expecting.

Also, Dominic Monaghan can talk quantum physics to me all day, baby, ohhhh yeah. That really shouldn't have been as hot as it was.

Seriously, how has this show not hit fandom properly yet? The cast list is MADE OF FANGIRL. Ahem. Apart from Joseph Fiennes, obviously, we have: Hikaru Sulu, Commodore Norrington, Merry Brandybuck regularly, with a recurring side of River Song, Zoe Washburne, and Leoben. Not to mention, just about every episode has passed the Bechdel Test, absolutely kickass women (JANIS OMG HAVE MY BABIES) and POCs, a canonical lesbian relationship, and a really intriguing premise with twists in every episode. It's certainly not perfect, but it's well worth a watch. And I would like someone else to speculate with about it, dammit!

In other TV news, Dollhouse has been canceled. Well, hell. I am glad they've promised to air the full season, though, and the premise wasn't really built to hold up for more than a couple of seasons, anyway. Hopefully Joss will use this as an opportunity to wrap up the story with style. I think nine more episodes could do it, so I'm willing to enjoy what we get, even if it's a bit disappointing. Dollhouse has been interesting fun -- and raised some fascinating moral issues -- but it's no Firefly. I'm not crushed.

I'm enjoying the show way more than I expected to-- though I worry that it will go the way LOST did, and lose me. But so far it's held my interest. I really love evol!Dom! Wow! It is way cool to see him as a bad guy!

But I will probably not get into writing fic for it-- though I'd love to read some. (While mulling over Yuletide, I realized that every fandom I wanted to write is a book-based fandom. Apparently I'm not that interested in writing for visual media. And of course, it takes a lot to lure me away from LotR.)

I am completely loving FlashForward. And I was really wondering, too, why I hadn't seen more of my flist mentioning it. Based on the cast alone, sooo many of the different parts of my flist should've been all over it.

There's also a tie to Supernatural...not that it makes me happy 'cause I'm really not a fan of Genevieve Cortese (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1298809/)'s acting ability...but it's still another fandom that should be all up in the show.

And Dom's character is REALLY pushing all my happy buttons. He's brilliant, talky and evil.

Yes. It's a very happy making show.

I was sad to see Dollhouse canceled, but only because it's another Joss property that got shut down. However, I agree - it hasn't been nearly enough to hold my attention as more than a casual viewer. Which makes me sad, 'cause I thought I'd love it.

Gah, I seriously need to catch up on FlashForward! It does look mildly amazing just from the cast, but so far I've only caught the pilot. And it's right before SPN on Thursdays, so really it shouldn't be that hard. Hmm.

ALSO, given that life has been hellishly busy and somewhat shitty for me recently (no doubt crazy for you too), I haven't you in ages. We should remedy this, y/n?

I'm really enjoying Flash Forward, though I'm an episode or so behind at the moment. It hasn't really grabbed me fannishly yet, but I keep hoping maybe it will. It definitely does have the recipe for a solidly fannish show and I'm not sure why it's not getting more attention.

I agree completely on Dollhouse. It was never going to last more than a few seasons. Maybe now they'll have a chance to do a solid job of wrapping it up.

Dom in this is so much fun to watch!

I also got a nice buzz from John Cho last week. And Gina Torres, oh yeah!
