Have caught up with FlashForward, just in time for a new episode. It's not the greatest show ever, but it keeps me interested, that's for damn sure. And "The Gift" just made me CRY, which I really wasn't expecting.
Also, Dominic Monaghan can talk quantum physics to me all day, baby, ohhhh yeah. That really shouldn't have been as hot as it was.
Seriously, how has this show not hit fandom properly yet? The cast list is MADE OF FANGIRL. Ahem. Apart from Joseph Fiennes, obviously, we have: Hikaru Sulu, Commodore Norrington, Merry Brandybuck regularly, with a recurring side of River Song, Zoe Washburne, and Leoben. Not to mention, just about every episode has passed the Bechdel Test, absolutely kickass women (JANIS OMG HAVE MY BABIES) and POCs, a canonical lesbian relationship, and a really intriguing premise with twists in every episode. It's certainly not perfect, but it's well worth a watch. And I would like someone else to speculate with about it, dammit!
In other TV news, Dollhouse has been canceled. Well, hell. I am glad they've promised to air the full season, though, and the premise wasn't really built to hold up for more than a couple of seasons, anyway. Hopefully Joss will use this as an opportunity to wrap up the story with style. I think nine more episodes could do it, so I'm willing to enjoy what we get, even if it's a bit disappointing. Dollhouse has been interesting fun -- and raised some fascinating moral issues -- but it's no Firefly. I'm not crushed.
