Excerpt from article in school newspaper describing infamous Scavenger Hunt tradition:

\It is difficult to explain the sheer, unadulterated madness that descends upon the University for this four-day stint during spring quarter, but it is not dissimilar to a coked-up Richard Simmons doing espresso shots in a cage with a large monkey.

My roomie and I just laughed at that for a solid five minutes. I don't know why. It hurts.

I think it is because (and Gabe, take note) that "large" is an innately funny adjective by sole virtue of its low frequency...ordinarily, a word such as "big" or "huge" or "ginormous" would be used in the place of "large," but here "large" is used to great effect as an understated modifier, implying that the monkey is large and that this is not terribly exciting. Somehow, that's funny.
