Ahahaha, I just went back to rewatch the very end of the Dollhouse pilot, and it absolutely 100% totally is Alan Tudyk watching the video of Caroline naked at the end there. You can just barely make out the profile of his face as he tucks her photo into the envelope for Ballard, and that is definitely Tudyk. Glee!

The latest episode was blandly entertaining. I am amused by Victor's crush on Sierra. Interviews with Tahmoh and Eliza indicate that episode six is where the network stops interfering and the Jossness of the show finally emerges, not to mention the overarching mythology, so I'm holding out for the next few weeks, anyway. I really hope this is true.

After all, shows generally take a little time to become good. The first few episodes of Sports Night were GODAWFUL, and look how awesome that series became (and was then abruptly terminated, of course). X-Files season 1 wasn't so hot, either -- a lot of mediocre monster-of-the-weeks interspersed with a few genuinely good episodes. So yeah. Fingers crossed.

Completely unrelatedly, I have fallen hard for the Winters/Nixon. I hear that this pairing is referred to as The Obvious in Band of Brothers fandom, and I am okay with that. Because their love is so obvious. I've been seeking out fic where I can -- through [livejournal.com profile] crack_van, mostly, since that tends to be my starting point for any new fandom -- but if anyone has any recs of this nature, please to be bringing them to my attention? (I know there are a few Webster/Liebgott fans on my flist. I mean you no harm. Those two boys are lovely, and I can certainly see the slash potential. But at the moment, I'm not particularly interested in the fic there.)

See, I watched that, and I totally didn't think it looked a thing like Tudyk -- I actually thought, "they're going to have to work to make that look like Alan was there all along." I am happy to be disproved, because damn.

Also, did you see the previews for episode 6? Because whatever happens between two characters has me wriggling in anticipation...

Buffy season 1 was miserable, it didn't gel with me until sometime in season 2 -- and even then, it's uneven all the way through. (Oddly enough, my coworker's brother was in the first season of Buffy.) Firefly became amazing with Our Mrs. Reynolds, which was the fifth or sixth episode written. Sports Night I liked in the early episodes, whatever.

Seriously, look at that profile. Pure Tudyk. Maybe they swapped someone else in for the full back shot -- though I dunno why they would, you really can't tell a thing from that -- but the closeup putting the photo in the envelope has to be him. It's not obvious unless you're really looking for it, though.

Just watched the preview. Oh, look, Ballard and Echo in the same shot! About time.

I am not used to my Wash being lit so creepily, or looking strangely like Pan. Does he have a goatee? Is that goatee being seen? Is he brunette now? The full-back shot seems nothing like him, but...I haven't actually studied Alan Tudyk in the buff before. Clearly, I need to rent Death at a Funeral

Also, just noticed -- Victor is totally in the shot of the dolls going to bed. You can't see his face, but you can see his profile as Echo goes to bed. Nice.
